What is STARS?
The Sophia STARS App is Sophia College's own quick-logging system, used mainly to record uniform and learning infringements — for example when a student isn't in correct uniform, or isn't prepared with their diary/materials for class. It's used daily by Fratelli teachers as part of the Fratelli Five, and by any teacher who notices an infringement during the day.
Affirmations — recognising the good stuff too
STARS isn't just for infringements. Use the Affirmation section to log when a student does something worth recognising — not every positive moment needs a Way of the Wolf card sent home, but it's the same spirit of noticing and recording good behaviour, not just poor behaviour.

Common tasks
Add the exact steps to log an infringement in the app. Have a brief conversation with the student when you do this — it shouldn't be silent record-keeping.
How uniform infringements escalate
Uniform infringements logged in STARS are tracked by House Companions and the Assistant Principal – Engagement (APE), and escalate automatically:
| Infringements | What happens |
|---|---|
| 5 (Step 1) | Fratelli teacher emails the student (House Companion cc'd) — student attends the Re-Engagement Room at first break |
| 10 (Step 2) | House Companion emails student + parent/guardian — RER at first break |
| 15 (Step 3) | House Companion emails student + parent — RER at first break; parent asked to call for a phone conversation |
| 20 (Step 4) | House Companion emails student + parent — RER at first break; parent asked to arrange a face-to-face meeting |
| 25 (Step 5) | House Companion emails student + parent, AP cc'd — meeting with HC and AP requested |
| 30 (Step 6) | House Companion emails student + parent, AP and DP cc'd — meeting with HC, AP and DP requested |
